ry Church - The Backstory #2
Scripture: Psalm 92:13
Spiritual Growth Challenge: Let God Redeem Your Story
Spiritual Growth - The Word, Worship, Prayer, Living Generously
One of the struggles we have as believers are differentiating when the Bible says, "We Are," and we relegate it to what "We Do."
Such as over comers, we determine it to be an event when God says it is who we are.
If we were to say to the Apostle Paul,"Let's go to church?" he would look at us so confused. Because ekklesia is a Greek word defined as “a called-out assembly or congregation.” You are not going somewhere; you are "them somewhere."
When we say TryChurch - it is more than coming to a building; it is people encountering God through you. You are someone’s somewhere! YourBackstory Matters.
Psalm 92:13 “They are planted in the house of the Lord; they flourish in the courts of our God.”
The role of the Church is to provide a place to be planted, fruitful and flourishing. But if you don't get planted, you will never produce.
I hear people say all the time, "You don't have to go to church to be a Christian." True, but you will not be fruitful as a Christian if you are not planted somewhere.
Matthew 12:33 “Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad, for the tree is known by its fruit.
To "Make" the tree good, we must be Rooted in HisPresence more than we are concerned about Production.
Now that you are active in your faith, producing where you are, it's time to develop “Roots to where we are growing.”
Everyone has a Backstory.
God cares about the Unseen and Undercover more than theHighlights and Hype.
What is a "Backstory"? A backstory is all the stuff youd o not see; it makes fruit what it appears to be.

Why do we compare our backstory, the unseen and undercover, against everyone else’s highlight videos?
I love CrossFit because, in CrossFit, they emphasize the day-to-day grind rather than the CrossFit Games.
For us, the body of Christ, to "make the tree good," we have got to love the backstory more than the Highlight Video.
We must desire to be Rooted in his Presence over the Greatness of our Production.
Throughout this message, I'll continually emphasize #PresenceOverProduction.
Many of us have embraced, tolerated, or even disciplined ourselves into the backstory, but it is time to fall in love with it.
I LOVE my time with my Father every morning, a lot more than preaching.
Embracing the Backstory:
Jesus had 30years of backstory for 3 years of ministry.
Moses had 40years in Egypt and 40 years in the desert of backstory before he led Israel.
David was 12-16when he was anointed and 30 when he became King.
Joshua was had 40years of backstory before he led Israel into the Promised land.
Abraham was 75when he left Haram and 100 when he had Isaac. He had 25 years of backstory.
God wants to establish to you through deep roots more than downloads.
Isaiah 61:3 “that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he may be glorified.”
Oak Tree Roots - Oak Tree Roots first form a primary Tap Root. Soon the tap roots surpassed by an extensive root system spreading horizontally. This lateral mass of roots will bring the tree moisture and nutrients for its lifetime. Mostoak tree roots lie only 18 inches under the soil. They may spread to occupy as pace 4 to 7 times the width of the tree's crown.
We have got to ask God to develop our backstory for fruit to remain. Then, over the next 10 years, you will have a backstory for all your up-front fruit.
God's heart in the backstory is to make your roots deeper, broader, and stronger in Him, then the fruit will speak for itself.
We must learn to love the undercover. Society loves the platform, and no one likes the dirty work, but Roots love dirt.
Not everything that happens in this life is from God, but in everything that happens, if we will look to grow deeper instead of taller, we will stand tall in the end.
When a storm hits, it doesn’t hit the roots, but the depth of the roots will determine how the tree will stand in the storm.
When the storm hits:
Production says “Please Pray” vs. Presence says “Pray Like This”
Production says "I Need a Word" vs. Presence says"I Got a Word."
Production says “God, Come to Me” vs. Presence says “I’m GettingInto the Presence of God."
People say, "God use me!" but we need to pray,"God Root Me!"
The question is, "Will you let God redeem your"Backstory."
