Spiritual Growth Challenge: What will you do as an expression of love.

Spiritual Growth - The Word, Worship, Prayer, Living Generously

Impact: We LOVE! Therefore, we invest in others and develop people to see life change and community transformation.

John 4:7-15

A woman from Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give me a drink.” (For his disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.) TheSamaritan woman said to him, “How is it that you, a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a woman of Samaria?” (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.)10 Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.” 11 The woman said to him, “Sir, you have nothing to draw water with, and the well is deep. Where do you get that living water? 12 Are you greater than our father Jacob? He gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did his sons and his livestock.” 13 Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” 15 The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water, so that I will not b e thirsty or have to come here to draw water.”

For anything to grow, it requires dirt. Where the disciples saw Dirt, Jesus saw a Harvest.

How many of you have ever felt like dirt? Then get ready for the harvest!

Get ready because what others have counted out, God is counting on!

The disciples saw the dirt that was Samaria emphasized by this woman who was rejected by her own.

The Background: Samaria -rejected people, a woman was rejected in society, a woman of the city (5 Husbands), the town rejected her.

Jesus didn’t see her dirt; He saw her Harvest!

Jesus saw the Harvest that was an everlasting covenant to Abraham.

Genesis 18:17-18

17 The Lord said, “ShallI hide from Abraham what I am about to do, 18 seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?

Is the promise you are praying for wrapped up in the problem you’re praying against?

The disciples were awaiting the harvest and aKingdom not a bunch of rejected Samaritans. What the disciples saw as the problem was actually the promise.

Who is that co-worker you avoid as the problem?

What part of the city is the problem?

What is that one quality about your spouse you just wish would change?

What is that thing your kid keeps doing?

Look around you this morning; why do you sit by the same people every week? Because if I get to know them, I might get dirty?

Or what if they get to know me and I can’t hide my dirt.

Without the dirt, there is no Harvest.

Jesus himself said, "13 Go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.” Matthew9:13

Is it possible that we are so consumed with lunch that we miss what Jesus is trying to Launch?

John 4:35

35 Do you not say,‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest.

When you look at the dirt, you are seeing the harvest!

Genesis26:1 “1Now there was a famine in the land, besides the former famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went to Gerarto Abimelech king of the Philistines.”

Genesis26:12 “12 And Isaac sowed in that land and reaped in the same year a hundredfold. The Lord blessed him,”

For anything to grow, it requires dirt. Where the disciples saw Dirt, Jesus saw a Harvest.

How many of you have ever felt like dirt? Then get ready for the harvest!

Get ready because what others have counted out, God is counting on!

Get ready because what others have counted out, God is counting on!

What are you doing with the dirt?

Many people choose to walk on it rather than cultivate it. As a result, some of you feel walked on, trampled down, kicked aside from dirt in your life.

Don't be mad people walked on you, be upset you haven't been pushing the dirt of your past behind you.

That promotion you got pasted up for.

That house loan you didn’t get.

           Getting Bullied in the bathroom.

The"Mean Girls" club made fun of you that you secretly wanted to be apart of.

Whenever a seed starts growing, it decides that "the seed in me is greater than the dirt on top of me."

The seed starts pushing dirt!

Decide right now, “The seed in me is greater than the dirt on top of me.”
